"Daughters of the Sun"

Every day the sun sets behind the horizon, into the deep ocean, into the magic Waterland. After the whole day the sun needs too cool down a little bit.

Every morning, the priestesses of the sun help to push the sun over the surface, so the sun can shine for everybody all day.

I can't remember exactly, how I got this inspiration, but I only remember that it was so unexpected that I had to sketch it immediately on any paper, so I wouldn't forget it (which happen to me oft, idea is coming and leaving). And that was a year ago. In the meantime I created other costumes and slowly started this project. Then came finally the time for “pulling the sun”. About the costume, it was total clear for me, it must be a bit of an antique, after all, to serve the sun and the goddess of the sun smells little bit of antiquity. All in gold and white.

After the last costume for Flora was this costume pretty easy, I Had to sew two dresses in the same style, but each I wanted a little bit different. I was wondering how to create the sun under the water, to make it work. Then I got a call from friend, whom I explained the idea and he told me he just saw in the photo rental store a huge plastic ball that has a hole for putting the lights inside, so I should take a look. When I saw it, I knew exactly, this is my sun.

Regarding the models for this photo I had the idea of blond girls, since I wanted to take pictures on a black background, like a night in the ocean, and dark hair would be less visible in the photo. I was thinking of Anna, who I was shooting underwater couple times with and she enjoyed it and she was willing to do some more underwater projects together. Plus she match exactly my idea. In that moment I was thinking of Patricie. Those two would perfectly fit into the concept, the same height, blond hair, they will look perfect together, like sisters. I knew Patricie from the photo shoot last year. When I contacted them, they both gladly agreed. So all that was left was to plan the date.

We set the date, Monday 9.July. Sunday I was preparing all things for shooting, I was going through all details, to not forget something, I checked everything. I reminded the girls what time we will meet at the pool. And at the same time I was looking at the Instagram profile of Anna and I started sweating. I immediately sent a message to Anna, gently asking "You got your hair dyed blue?" . Anna completely forgot it (the idea of blonde hair) and a few days before she dyed her hair. Thanks Got for the social networks, otherwise I will find it out at the pool, it will be late. So I had the chance and in quick time I prepared the blond wig and the problem of hair has been solved.

The photo shoot was going great, the girls were amazing and they enjoyed it. The team work was perfect, as usual. Thanks so much to everyone! And what would have been the Daughters of the Sun without the Queen of the Sun? And you can look forward to it in August. The costume of the queen is already finished and waiting to get wet and I'm looking forward to a wonderful queen.

"Dcery slunce"

Každý den slunce zapadá za horizontem do temných hlubin oceánu, do tajemné Vodní říše. Po celém dni se rozpálené slunce potřebuje taky trošku zchladit.

Každé ráno ho kněžky slunce pomáhají vytáhnout nad hladinu, aby mohlo svítit pro všechny celý den.

Už si ani přesně nevybavuji, kdy ke mně přišla tato inspirace, ale jediné co si pamatuji, že to bylo tak nečekané, že jsem si to musela ihned v rychlosti na koleně načrtnout na papír, abych to nezapomněla. Což se mi stává často, myšlenka přichází a i odchází během chvilky. A to už je rok zpátky. Mezitím jsem vytvářela jiné kostýmy a pomalu rozjížděla tento projekt. Pak přišlo konečně na řadu “vytahování slunce ”. O kostýmu jsem měla celkem jasno, musí to být trošku antické, přece jenom sloužit slunci a bohyni slunce zavání trošku antikou. Takže bylo jasné, že to bude celé zlaté a bílé. Po Floře byl tento kostým celkem snadný Musela jsem ušít dvoje šaty, ve stejném stylu, ale každé jsem chtěla malinko odlišit střihem. Přemýšlela jsem jak vytvořit slunce pod vodou, z čeho ho vyrobit. Pak mi volal kamarád, kterému jsem ten nápad vyprávěla, že právě uviděl v půjčovně s fotografickýma potřebami obrovskou kouli z plastu, která má otvor na prostrčení světla, ať se na to přijedu podívat. Když jsem to uviděla, věděla jsem přesně, že je to moje slunce.

Modelky na tuto fotku jsem měla v představě blondýnky, jelikož jsem chtěla fotit na černém pozadí, připomínající noc v oceánu, a tmavé vlasy by byly hůře viditelné na fotce. Vzpomněla jsem si na Aničku, se kterou jsem fotila a které to šlo a moc ji to bavilo a chtěla dál se mnou něco fotit. Odpovídala přesně mojí představě. V ten moment se mi vybavila v mysli Patricie. Ty dvě by skvěle zapadaly do konceptu, stejná výška, světlé vlasy, skvěle by se doplňovaly a vypadaly by jako sestry. Patricii jsem znala z focení minulý rok. Když jsem holkám napsala, obě s radostí souhlasily. Takže už zbývalo jen naplánovat termín.

Fotily jsme v pondělí 9.července. V neděli si chystám věci, procházím detaily abych nic nezapomněla, všechno kontroluju. Připomínám holkám kdy se potkáme na bazénu. A naráz koukám na profil Aničky na sociální síti, orosí se mi čelo a opatrně se ptám ve zprávě „Ani, Ty máš vlasy obarvené na modro?” . Anička si to vůbec neuvědomila a pár dnů před focením si obarvila vlasy na modro. Ještě že existují sociální sítě, jinak bych to nevěděla a nám oběma by to došlo až na bazénu. Tak jsem měla možnost ještě v rychlosti připravit blond paruku a problém vlasů byl vyřešen.

Focení probíhalo skvěle, holky byly úžasné a bylo vidět, že je to taky baví.

A co by to byly za dcery slunce bez královny slunce? A na to se můžete těšit v srpnu. Kostým královny je již hotový a čeká na zanoření a já se těším na nádhernou královnu.
